Victorian Open State Swimming - Sat 3rd Sep 2011
Over the weekend, 4 of our dedicated swimmers took to the water in Melbourne. Competing at State level at MSAC were Ashleigh Pettigrew (MC), Ehlana Wilkinson (MC), Caitlyn Mackay (MC) and Grace Tanner. The vibrant and buzzing atmosphere of the surroundings was able to provide motivation for swimmers enabling lightning fast times to be performed. Congratulations to the girls for a fabulous effort with many PBs over the course of the meet.

Country Short Course - Shepparton - Sat 13th Aug 2011
What a fabulous effort by all swimmers in Shepparton. The vibrant atmosphere of countries was relived as many of our talented swimmers took to the water to smash out PBs. Congratulations to the first time qualifiers and it was pleasing to see such a small club be so competitive in regional Victoria. A big thank you to the beloved bus driver, Alan Tanner and our brilliant team manager, Leigh Bolden. Well done to everyone.

Warrnambool Short Course 2 day meet - Sat 11th Jun 2011
The annual Warrnambool two day meet was held on the long weekend. B2R had several swimmers take to the water over the Saturday evening and dreaded Sunday morning. The home pool offered many an exciting advantage seeing lots of PBs and many successful results. We had plenty of medals won and overall categories were taken out. A big congratulations to the age group placers - Will Turner (9 & under boys), Aaron Skinner (18 & over boys), Ashleigh Pettigrew (18 & over girls and MC), Caitlyn Mackay (MC) and Shea Russell (18 & over girls). There is also a Group Photograph of most of the participating swimmers! Well done everyone :)

Victorian State School Swimming - Thu 7th Apr 2011
The 4 B2R swimmers who competed at MSAC for the school state swimming Grace Tanner, Cameron McNeil, Blake Turner and Rachael Brodie all did exceptionally well. Everyone swam well and achieved PBs in their events with Blake swimming exceptionally well to achieve 1st place in his age for the 50m Freestyle event. His efforts enabled Blake to be selected for the Victorian Schools state team to compete against the other states of Australia. Congratulations to all swimmers and we wish Blake all the best in the next level.

Hamilton's chilly waters didn't stop swimmers from having a great time and doing PBs. The lollipops at the end were definitely a highlight :) Well done to all involved.

Ballarat Top 5 - Sat 28th May 2011
WOW!!! Fantastic swim meet at Ballarat. It was awesome to see so many people excited to get racing in the start of the short course season. The cheer squads in the stands were also incredible well deserving a gold medal for their efforts. Congratulations to all who achieved PB's (there were lots and lots of them) making our swimming club incredibly proud. It was absolutely fantastic to see the energy from our B2R club amongst the crowd. To the 15 swimmers who participated, congratulations and also to the support crew making the event lots of fun. That's what swimming is really all about. "Why try to achieve if you can't have fun!" - Chris Well done and good luck for the rest of the swims :D

8 Hour Ocean Relay - Sat 26th Mar 2011
On Saturday the 26th of March 2011, a group of swimmers including head coach Chris Russell, Rachael Brodie, Maragret Brodie, Megan Champness and Matthew Champness participated in a community event aimed to raise funds for the local charity Peter's Project. The fundraiser went for a long and cold 8 hours where swimmers were consistently completing 1km laps. The team was proudly sponsored by B2R and Proudfoots and completed the long day with the most laps, proving our versatility in the ocean. Congratulations for a great effort and successful participation.
Country Longcourse Championships - Warrnambool - Sun 31st Jan 2010
B2R had a small but dedicated team of swimmers competing at this years Victorian Country Long Course Championships which were held at B2R's own training facility. The team consisted of Grace, Aaron, Ashliegh, Lainey and our dedicated coach Chris Russell. The swimmers all did well achieving Pb's and Ashleigh even won a bronze medal. The club ranked 17th out of 32 entered clubs which was a good effort considering we only had four swimmers entered for this meet. Danger 1000 - Torquay - Sat 6th Mar 2010
Chris Russell, B2R's head coach is usually spotted on the side of the pool cheering on and encouraging our swimmers to achieve their goals. But at Torquay it was a different scene, Chris put on his new wetsuit along with B2R swimmers Rachael and Ben. Chris won the Supermaster category while Rachael achieved 6th and Ben placed 8th in their categories. The Ocean creates some new challenges for the swimmers who predominately swim in the pool however they are all pleased with their results and eager to compete in the next ocean swim at Port Campbell
States at MSAC - Sat 15th Aug 2009
Two dedicated swimmers left Warrnambool to go to the 2009 State Short Course Championships on the 5th and 6th of September. Those two swimmers and there incredibly supportive coach Chris Russell can be seen on the left. The two girls who entered States competed in 8 events in total and preformed faster in 7 of those events. Congratulations Rachael and Grace!
Countries at Wangaratta - Sun 1st Mar 2009
On the 21st of August a bus load of enthusiastic swimmers headed up to Wangaratta to compete in the 2009 Victorian Country Short Course Championships. On the right is that team, the B2R team. They honoured the newfound club mascot. And were very serious about their swimming. Ashley won a Second Medal and Aaron won a Third Medal for his swimming efforts. The swimming Team consisted of five swimmers, Ashleigh, Aaron, Amy, Grace and Lainey and our dedicated coach Chris Russell. They all competed well and had a great time up at Wangaratta.
